Fr. David Loftus

Pastor

About Fr. Loftus
Fr. David Loftus is the third pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes, Northridge. A graduate of All Hallows College, Dublin (1992, 1994), and of Boston College (2000), he has served within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles since his ordination in 1994. Prior to becoming our pastor he served in various parishes. He also worked in the Archdiocesan Office for Religious Education with responsibility for both Catechist Formation (basic and advanced), and Adult Faith Formation.

Mr. Kris Brough

Principal

About Mr. Brough
Mr. Brough is principal of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish School. Prior to joining our school staff he was a parishioner and school parent. Previously he taught at Bishop Alemany and Notre Dame. He is the proud parent of a Lourdes Lourdes student and two alums.
Mr. Brough is a graduate of Bishop Alemany High School, Cal State University Northridge, and Loyola Marymount University.

Mr. Kevin Gallagher

Director of Technology

About Mr. Gallagher
Mr. Gallagher, is fondly referred to by most students as Mr. G. His family has been a member of the Lourdes Parish since 1989, and he has been on staff since 2000. All four of his daughters are graduates of Lourdes. Prior to teaching, he was a professional photographer, a talent still in use for school sports and other activities. After graduating from Crespi High School, Mr. G graduated from CSU Northridge in Child Development and Loyola Marymount, with a Masters’ Degree in Education. He is also a Certified STEM Science Teacher. He wears several hats here at Lourdes – 6th-grade homeroom, Middle School Science Teacher, Director of Technology and Coordinater of Afterschool Enrichment Programs. During his years here, he has also been a classroom aide, Computer and Math teacher, as well as a Softball and Academic Decathlon Coach.

Mrs. Nicole Herrera

About Mrs. Herrera
Mrs. Nicole Herrera is the Transitional Kindergarten teacher. She has taught in Catholic education since 2000, beginning her journey as a 5th grade teacher at Incarnation in Glendale. She taught many different grade levels at Lourdes until settling into her true passion, teaching the youngest learners in our community. She has three children who have all attended Catholic schools. Her oldest daughter and son attend Notre Dame High School and her youngest son is currently here at Lourdes. She and her husband are graduates of Notre Dame High School. She earned her BA at San Diego State University, her Masters in Education at Loyola Marymount University, and her CA teaching credential at Mount Saint Mary’s University. Every day that she spends with the little ones in the classroom is a true gift!

Mrs. Heather Brough

About Mrs. Brough

Mrs. Brough has been a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes staff since 2012 and is the Kindergarten grade teacher. She has been a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes community since 2007. She is the proud parent of two Our Lady of Lourdes graduates and one current Our Lady of Lourdes student.

Mrs. Brough is a graduate of Bishop Alemany High School, Pasadena City College, CSUN, and Loyola Marymount University.

Ms. Christine Elguezabal

First Grade Teacher

About Ms. Elguezabal
Mrs. Elguezabal is our 1st Grade Teacher. She started her teaching journey at Lourdes in 2018 but has been a part of the Lourdes community for the last 20! A Lourdes graduate, Mrs. “E” received her bachelor’s from California State University, Fresno (Go Dogs!) and went on to receive her Masters and Credential in Education with a Specialization in English Language Learners at National University. Most recently, she cleared her credential through Mount St. Mary’s University. She believes in being a lifelong learner!

Mrs. Maureen Moran

About Mrs. Moran
Mrs. Moran is an alum who entrusted her childrens’ education to OLL. She is a licensed attorney who currently opts to follow her passion guiding the next generation of children as they search for knowledge and find their uniquely designed God-given purpose. In her classroom, her goal is to create a safe and loving environment for each student to grow and learn. After many years of teaching in Catholic schools Mrs. Moran is thrilled to be a part of OLL school again.

About Ms. McPherson
Ms. McPherson has been the 4th Grade Teacher at OLL since 2003. She is a graduate of Chapman University and LMU.

Mrs. Kari Andrews

Mrs. Andrews, the 5th grade teacher, is STEM certified. She has been a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes faculty since 1998. She is a proud parent of an Our Lady of Lourdes student. Mrs. Andrews is a graduate of St. Mel Elementary School, Louisville High School, CSUN, and Loyola Marymount University.

About Miss de Carteret
Miss de C. cannot believe how the time has flown since joining the Lourdes community in 2018! Miss de C. herself is the product of LA Catholic schools, having graduated from both St.Mel Parish School and Marymount High School. After studying Cognitive Sciences at Rice University in Houston, TX, she returned home to start her career in education. A strong believer that learning never ends, she continues her own education at Loyola Marymount University. Miss de C. constantly works to create a classroom environment in which students look forward to challenging and growing their brains. Passers-by are guaranteed to hear just as much laughter as they do math.

Mr. Waitman is Athletic Director and PE Coach. He is a graduate of Alemany High School and got his degree from Northern Arizona University in Elementary Education. He has been on staff at OLL since 2017. If he is not coaching football, you can probably find him rooting on his favorite teams and former teammates! He strives to have fun in PE, seeing students up, active, and smiling is the goal!

About Mrs. Figueroa
A parishioner since 1995, Mrs. Mendel-Figueroa has worn a number of hats working and ministering in the parish. Her daughters both graduated from Lourdes and Notre Dame HS. Mrs. Mendel-Figueroa attended Catholic schools since 1st grade and finished with a BS in Math and an MBA from LMU. She is your go to staff member for all things financial and looks forward to serving and supporting school families.

About Mrs. Gasbarro
Mrs. Gasbarro has worked at Our Lady of Lourdes School since 1996. After teaching music for 19 years she moved into the front office. Mrs. Gasbarro is a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes, Louisville High School, and the University of Southern California. Her three children are also Lourdes graduates. She has been a cantor for the parish for over fifty years singing at many weddings, funerals, and special events. Mrs. Gasbarro loves sharing her fond memories of our school and parish that she has been a part of since 1959.

Our administrative assistant, Mrs. Gonyea, spent her first 18 years at Lourdes in the classroom supporting 3rd grade students and teachers. She is the proud parent of two Lourdes graduates, Christopher (1999) and Carolyn (2005). Mrs. Gonyea is a graduate of Cal State University, Chico where she completed her Bachelors degree and received her teaching credential.

MRS. KATHY ORSINI

About Mrs. Orsini
Ms. Orsini attended Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School and Alemany High School. She graduated with a Multiple Subject degree and Credential from CSUN. She has taught Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten and 1st grade. She enjoys working with children and helping them to succeed!
